URGENT – Sandy Cost Share Extended through 11:59pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012
For the major disasters previously declared in the State of New York (FEMA-4085-DR-NY), State of New Jersey (FEMA-4086-DR-NJ), and State of Connecticut (FEMA-4086-DR-CT), the President has authorized continuation until 11:59pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, of the 100% Federal cost share for emergency power restoration assistance and emergency public transportation assistance (including emergency protective measures to secure public transportation infrastructure). IMPORTANT: This extension is strictly limited to continuing funding for previously initiated FEMA mission assignments and reimbursable projects for those areas within counties designated for Public Assistance in the aforementioned major disaster declarations—NO NEW STARTS.
Continuing the current 100% Federal cost share through 11:59pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, will reinforce power restoration efforts, critically necessary to restoring power in some of the most densely populated areas of the United States, and further support the essential emergency supplemental transportation assistance to replace unavailable rail and subway service. In furtherance of these efforts, we will also continue to provide gasoline and diesel fuel as the Governors of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut may request through Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the standard 75/25 cost share (not 100%) and through standard grant terms and conditions, provided conditions on the ground do not result in a commercial disadvantage for private sector providers. These actions will lay a good foundation for the transition from response to recovery.
