Atlantic City Casinos Back in Operation
ATLANTIC CITY — Governor Chris Christie and Division of Gaming Enforcement Acting Director David Rebuck announced that all of the 11 gaming halls in Atlantic City were back in operation by 12 noon today.
“This has been a difficult time for everyone in Atlantic City and throughout the State,” said Governor Christie. “Now that Hurricane Irene has passed, we are extremely pleased to have the casinos safely back in operation and employees returning to work. I commend the casinos for working so cooperatively with the Division of Gaming Enforcement during this emergency.”
“Underscoring Governor Christie and Lt. Governor Guadagno’s message that ‘Atlantic City is Open for Business,’ I am pleased to announce that, through the joint efforts of the Division of Gaming Enforcement, State Police, Division of Criminal Justice and casino operators, we have ensured a smooth and seamless reopening,” said Rebuck. I want to thank the dedicated workers at all levels of government who protected the employees, guests and residents of Atlantic City.”
Acting Director Rebuck signed separate orders allowing each individual casino to reopen on or before noon today.
